Be Selective, You Can’t Serve Everyone

CantServeEveryone

2020 is the year in which I'm focusing on Exponential Value and Visibility.  A huge part of being able to achieve this is transforming my vision and theme into actionable and achievable goals.  A major challenge I deal with is potential clients that do not see the value in my work. You can follow my journey to experience my vision here.

I am passionate about increasing access to coaching.  As a young start-up leader and entrepreneur, coaching has given me a safe space to learn new skills and ov…

How Well Positioned is Your Career?

x-Factor

Wherever you are in your career - how well positioned are you?

Beyond technical skills and the obvious of course.

To get a job and keep it, you need more than technical skills.

In October 2019 I was asked to be part of a panel on career positioning in the digital age alongside representatives from the largest banks and financial institutions in Nigeria including Ecobank.

Before the panel, I was given the opportunity to present my thoughts on the most important skills for CFA (Chartered Fin…

What My 2019 Week Looked Like

Since my full-time working for other company days, I have always tried to use themed days.  When I worked with a team, I would set aside specific days for different teams and administrative tasks.  My team knew I only had HR and people related conversations on Wednesday unless it was urgent. Themed days allow me to keep on top of all recurring parts of my business and different projects.  Over the last year, I have tried to do the same.  I plan to update my 2020 Week based on my 20/20 Vision.

The best way to eliminate the status quo and uplevel your approach is to open yourself up to learning and implementing.  My favorite way to stay up to date with leadership focused content is by subscribing to newsletters.

Investing in Myself for Others

Investment

Since 2017 I have invested over $50k into my personal and professional development

So, I was initially shocked (and scared to share this) when I calculated the numbers, but I was really curious and inspired by a coach I have worked with who has done something similar.  I invested a little over $25k in mostly coaching and consulting related education and business development if I remove the $30k I spent on my leadership-focused MBA.

So far, I have invested in:

  • Therapy
  • Astrology/ Numerolog…

The (Current) Tools Behind My Business

2

I am always rethinking my approach to my work so I can be more productive and effective. I wanted to share the current tools I leverage to get things done.  My work is powered by five basic tools:

Mixmax – Time is money. As I have conversations for a living it is important that I have an easy way to allow my clients and potential clients to have access to my calendar. Mixmax also allows me to schedule personalized emails and keep track of who is opening and clicking on links in my emails. Click…

3 Things I Kept In Mind While Building A Team From Scratch

team from stratch

How the heck am I going to find people I like?  When I was first hired to launch an online platform and build a team around it, I was scared. For the longest time, I had avoided ‘people-related’ issues. I had the chance to select and lead project-based teams and boss around some interns, but I had never built a team that was going to help me succeed in building an online-based startup. Hiring for a startup is difficult enough, but I was hiring for a business based in a country that I hadn't live…
