As a certified executive and leadership coach, recognized facilitator, speaker, and host of the Open Door Conversations Podcast, it’s my mission to help entrepreneurial-minded leaders move from precariously juggling too many balls to knowing exactly what to focus their attention on and how to prioritize their energy.

I provide the support I wish I had as a first-time co-founder and managing director launching and scaling a platform for the first African-based tech unicorn, now listed on the New York Stock Exchange. I know firsthand what it takes to connect with the right people to build tech-enabled businesses and teams from the ground up.

Here is why we should work together

I am an International Coaching Federation (ICF) certified coach focused on supporting leaders to increase their productivity, improve their performance, profitability, and, most importantly, build better relationships with their people.

My coaching is a combination of 'traditional' coaching approaches with leadership psychology (I have a leadership-focused MBA), neuroscience, emotional intelligence research, and sometimes I sprinkle in a few spiritual modalities.

In addition to my MBA, I also have a masters from the University of Pennsylvania and a B.A. from Bryn Mawr College. I dedicate much of my free time to giving back through mentoring and coaching for organizations such as Stanford Seed, Google for Startups, Arlan's Academy, Founders Institute, Seedstars, African Business Heroes, FemGems, Google’s #IamRemarkable Initiative (I’m a Platinum Tier Facilitator) and The Women's Impact Alliance (formerly The Coaching Fellowship), as well as sitting on two nonprofit boards.

Akua Nyame-Mensah is a leadership advisor, certified executive and leadership coach (ICF), recognized L&D facilitator, speaker, and host of the Open Door Conversations Podcast. As a former startup executive, she launched an online platform for the first African-based technology unicorn. Akua has had the opportunity to live and work in the U.S., Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, and South Africa and has consulted in and visited over 30 countries worldwide. She now partners with multinational organizations and high-growth startups to design and implement leadership experiences and immersions virtually and in person worldwide. In her work, she loves combining 'traditional' coaching approaches with leadership psychology, neuroscience, emotional intelligence research, and spiritual modalities. Akua works with leaders who are juggling a million responsibilities. She helps leaders clarify where they should focus their time and energy each day through her services and products so they go from taskmasters to strategically aligned.

Outside of her coaching and corporate speaking engagements, she is a regular mentor, coach, and judge for various entrepreneurship-focused organizations, including Stanford Seed, Google for Startups, Arlan's Academy, Founders Institute, Seedstars, African Business Heroes, FemGems, and The Women's Impact Alliance (formerly The Coaching Fellowship). Akua has a master’s degree from the University of Pennsylvania, a leadership-focused MBA from the Africa Leadership University School of Business, and is a member of Google’s Mastery Faculty, a selective group of facilitators committed to creating live magical learning experiences in-person or virtually.
