She'll also incorporate space for guests to celebrate their accomplishments with you. This empowering practice is important, especially for underrepresented groups, who often shy away from flexing their self-promotion muscle.

NOTE: Please excuse any errors in this transcript; it was created using an AI tool. Akua Nyame-Mensah 00:05 Hello and welcome to the open door conversations podcast. My name is a Korea Nyame-Mensah. I also respond to Aqua and Akua. I'm a certified executive and leadership coach recognised learning and organisational development facilitator, speaker and former startup executive. And I am so excited because this year I'm celebrating five years of working for myself five years of supporting leaders. And I am so grateful because I've had the opportunity to partner with amazing organisations, from high growth startups to multinational brands all around the world. In 2022. Alone, I serve over 600 Yes, over 600 leaders around the world. And in this podcast, you will have the opportunity to learn my three step leadership framework, I actually break it down in Episode 71. I use this framework with my high achieving and entrepreneurial minded clients that are juggling a million responsibilities so they can easily build wealth. This three step framework is going to teach you how to leverage your innate personality to learn how to prioritise and maximise not just your time, but also your money. You don't have to work harder or turn into someone else to get more gun. Let's tune into this week's episode. Hello, hello, hello, Happy New Year. It Korea here I am so excited to be jumping on and sharing a little bit about what you can expect from the open door conversations podcast this year, I'm going to be doing things a little differently. And I am so excited that you've taken the time to join me on this episode. Because I really want to make sure that I am sharing content with a lot of intention this year, I do not take your time, I do not take your attention for granted. And I really want to make the most of every one I bring on an each of the episodes that I put together. So straight off the bat, I just wanted to share that this year, I am actually celebrating five years in business. And I want to brag a bit because part of what I do, the support I provide to leaders is helping them build that self promotion muscle. So I would love to share with you some of the amazing things I've been able to do over the last year, I welcome and I invite you to share some of the amazing things, the things that you've accomplished the things that you are proud of this year as well. And one of the things I actually will be incorporating into each of my episodes, especially when I have guests on are the accomplishments they'd love to share with you. So what I would love to share first and foremost is that last year, I had the opportunity to serve over 600 leaders around the world. I also was a finalist in the first ever global hashtag I'm remarkable awards and two categories. And this in particular is really important to me, because it's really through this initiative, where I gained the confidence to share this type of information with you. You know, I've had the opportunity to speak coach and train leaders on five continents while living in Accra. Right. I've supported over 100 international coaching Federation members with their own thought leadership approach I have helped over 300 Hashtag is remarkable attendees rethink their relationship with self promotion, and sharing information like this. Last year, I released 34 podcast episodes and conducted 19 interviews. Thank you so much to those that were open to joining me on my podcast. I also trimmed over $500 worth of subscriptions for tools and software that weren't supporting my business. I love tools and software. So for me, this is a massive thing. I also had the opportunity to support leaders as a volunteer coach, mentor and judge and various startup related organisations including Africa, business heroes, founders Institute, Ghana, Google startups, Africa, Arlen's Academy, and the woman's impact Alliance, which is formally the coaching fellowship. Beyond that. One of the things I am incredibly proud of all right, and this is a personal thing is the fact that I only killed two plants last year. So I'm a budding plant Mom, it's something that actually brings me a lot of joy. And I'm really proud of the fact that I only killed two plants. The beginning of my year definitely started off a bit rocky, because I got sick. And that's actually one of the reasons why I haven't been able to put together my podcast episodes as early as I would like, but I'm okay with that because it's allowed me to be a little bit more strategic and released. start to think about how I want to show up this year. And what I'm really doing is trying to live or actually living the three step process that I teach leaders that I work with. It's the same process. I also keep in mind when I facilitate and when I speak, because from my perspective, and based on what I've seen working with hundreds of leaders over the last five years, is that leadership stems from three basic pillars, three basic pillars, and these pillars is what helps me support my clients so they can get not just amazing results, but shift how they show up and help them see that leadership can actually be incredibly easy. Most importantly, I think that's a core component of how I show up a core component of how I support those who listen to me, and those that invest in me, I make leadership easy, I make it real, I make it practical. And I think that this three step process allows me to teach leadership, right to show people how leadership can be very easy. It includes these three pillars, the first piece is really around cultivating self awareness. Right? So recognising how you show up really getting a clearer understanding of your schedule your relationship with time, and for some of those individuals that work within organisations, the systems that you're in cultivating your awareness around that is super key. The second bit really is around simplifying engagement engagement, because for the majority of leaders I support, they say they have no time for reflection for themselves, and they have no time to engage their team, or engage the people who might be able to support them on their leadership journey, building their business and building their wealth. And then the last bit is really around learning how to set expectations for themselves. And for others, these pieces are so crucial are key to leadership. Because if you cultivate your awareness, and you're able to simplify engagement, or start to experiment with engaging with others, right, but you don't set expectations, you have no idea of your growth, or the direction you're going in. All right. And if you simplify engagement, or start to experiment, right, and you set expectations, but you're not aware of your boundaries, you're not aware of your bandwidth, you're gonna burn out, right, or you're gonna get sick, right? It's not going to feel good, right? Because you're not going to know when to stop. And last but not least, if you somewhat have an idea of how you show up, because you've started to cultivate your self awareness, and you set expectations, but you haven't brought anyone along, because you haven't started to engage, you're not going to have the support, you need to really be able to step up into that leadership position. All right, so those are the three pillars we're going to be covering over the next year, we're going to start off, of course, with that cultivating awareness piece. And you'll probably see if you've been following me for a while that even the content that I'm sharing on LinkedIn, which is my primary social media platform, that's all really been focused on that awareness piece. Because I think that's so key. It's so crucial for us as leaders, and it's something that we don't always create the time and space for. So for the first quarter of this year, we're really going to be focused on bringing on guests that will be talking about how they've cultivated their self awareness, they're gonna be talking about the things that are important to them, and how they leverage that to motivate themselves to actually engage with others and achieve things they've never achieved before. So I really want to bring the best leaders from each industry so that you can learn from them. And I can also learn from them. But to be able to invite these guests, I really need your help. So please leave a podcast review. Podcast reviews are really important, because it's social proof, it's credibility that what I'm sharing can really support you, right has an impact. So new listeners, and my guests don't have to take my word for it right, they will see that other people see value in what I'm sharing and putting together here. So please take a second to share your perspective on my podcast, leave a review rate, it's, I really would appreciate it. All right. So that's all I have for you for this particular podcast episode. It's just a bit of a teaser, just a little bit of what we're going to be up to over this year. Please be on the lookout for my first episodes that are going to be coming out soon. Please feel free once again to connect. I'd love to hear about some of the things that you're excited about this year, even some of the things that you're excited about having accomplished last year. As always, thank you so much for taking the time to listen, stay safe, and stay safe. Thank you so much for listening to this week's episode. Please share this episode with someone who can benefit from its contents. If you found this episode helpful, I want to ask you To leave a review, this makes it easier for other people to find my podcast and also allows me to bring on even bigger guests, and even more fascinating stories. Thank you so much for listening again. Stay safe and stay sane
