EXECUTIVE COACHING
What is Coaching?
Coaching is a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires you to maximize your personal and professional potential. It is designed to facilitate the creation/development of goals and to develop and carry out a strategy/plan for achieving those goals.
Â
As a coach, I will assist you in….
-
Setting and planning your goals,
-
Creating awareness around potential blocks, derailers, and opportunities,
-
Defining actions and steps to help you move forward and finally,
-
Managing the process and defining what accountability means to you.
Â
Coaching is Not...
Therapy – it is about your future, not your past or fixing anything
Mentoring – it is about you, not my experiences
Consulting – it is about your solutions, not my thoughts
Nevertheless I will leverage mentoring and consulting approaches when given permission by my client. You can learn more about my approach.
Â
Who is an Executive?
"Executive" is a person who has leadership responsibility (financial/operational/ people) and/or responsibility for policy formulation and/or makes significant contributions to an organization.
This article (here) does a great job of breaking down the difference between executive (things of management) and leadership (people focused) coaching. In my coaching I go between both.
Â
What is the Role of a Coach?
I am your partner who helps you clarify your goals (personal or professional) and then achieve them through planning, action, and reflection.
I am here to help you identify your areas of strength and your areas of growth, and to build a development plan with you based on your goals. I am “in your corner” and will support and challenge you. I can also be your sounding board, thought partner, and a someone to hold you accountable.
Â
How Can I Use Coaching?
You can think of coaching as a way of committing to your continuous growth. You can benefit from a coach at any point in your career. Most people use my coaching for:
-
Overcoming internal blocks to success: I can help you identify your innate preferences, limiting beliefs and assumptions that are keeping you from taking your personal and professional life to the next level.
-
Improving professional and personal relationships and communication:Â I can partner with you to close the gap between how things are, and how you would like them to be concerning effective communication and productive relationships.
-
Ongoing personal and professional development:Â Together, we can set goals for you and work on the skills that will help you become the leader and person you want to be.
-
Situational support:Â Whatever challenge your work or life throws at you, you will have me by your side to help you talk through tough situations, prepare for an important meeting or a difficult conversation.
-
Career and business planning and transitions:Â I can be your thought-partner when it comes to planning your next move, and help you outline your vision.
Â
